What is ABC ID?
The ABC ID, short for Academic Bank of Credits, is an innovative digital ID that securely houses a student's academic information and credits. Create an ABC ID
Step 1 – Visit the Official DigiLocker Portal
To initiate creating an ABC ID, visit the official DigiLocker portal. Access it by clicking on digilocker.gov.in, and you will be redirected to the official website. If you are an existing user, click on the Sign-In button. If you are a new user, select the Sign-Up button.
Step 2 – Login
Next, you must log in to the portal using your mobile number, Aadhaar number, or username. Enter the required details and your password, and click the Sign-In button. You will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number. Enter the OTP and click on Submit.
Step 3 – Search Document
Once logged in, click on the Search Documents tab. Here, search for the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC Card). You will find it in the Education Category. Once located, click on it.
Step 4 – Create an ABC Card
To generate an ABC ID, you must fill in details such as name (as per Aadhaar), Date of Birth, Gender, Admission Year, Identity Type, Identity Value, and Institution Name. After providing the necessary information, tick the consent box and click the Get Document button.
Step 5 – View/Download ABC ID Card
After successfully creating your ABC ID, you can access it through the DigiLocker portal. You can also share your ABC Card with your respective educational institutions. To view and download the ID, navigate to the Issued Documents Tab of DigiLocker.
Downloading Your ABC Card
You can download your ABC Card directly from the DigiLocker or ABC portal. Follow these steps:
- Visit the DigiLocker website or app.
- Login to your DigiLocker account.
- Click on the Issued Documents option.
- Click on ABC ID Card Academic Bank of Credit.
- Wait for your ID to be fetched.
- Click on your Download icon for the PDF file.
Your ABC ID will be downloaded as a PDF file.
Updating University Details on ABC ID
You can update these details easily if you've entered incorrect university details on your ABC ID or have changed your institution. Here's how:
- Locate and Delete the Issue Document: Look for the three dots at the end of the ABC ID document and click on them. Select the 'Delete' option from the dropdown list.
- Re-Create the ABC ID with Correct Information: After successfully deleting the document, you need to create the ABC ID again. Ensure that you select the correct institute from the dropdown list this time.
